Former Vice Admiral Ship Destroyed by OPS Director
Saturday, November 22, 2008 13:24Eve University Director of Operations, Dee Carson struck a learning blow on the former Ivy League Vice Admiral, Sabre A, in a battle outside the School of Applied Knowledge (SAK) in Korsiki today in what marks the first destroyed vessel in what is rumored to be a long fought struggle of pride, integrity and honor between current and former Directors, Students and Staff.
At the time of the engagement, a secondary fleet was forming to take on additional war targets in a separate concurrent war with mercenary corporation, Royal Hiigaran Navy, a wining struggle that has endured for more then a week.
Dee, later stating in his after action report, had wished to take on the lurking Ariel Darklight, who had been in the system for the better part of the day, forcing the Director out of his chair and into a specially reserved ship. “Just in case, I swapped my Falcon for a Scorpion, fitted with less jamming than usual, but more tank & tackle. I undocked at HQ to provide cover for our guys joining the fleet”
Moments later, Sabre arrives. Dee Carson gangs up Oli, a ranking University student, in his CovOp Scanner of Doom and Eyedoll, another prestigious student in the ranks of the Ivy League, “slinging pure Amarr laser light love for DPS”. Dee is well known for his colorful description of events.
“Sabre plays snipe games for a bit. We almost have him a couple of times, but give the Devil his due, Sabre is a slippery rascal & never quite stayed in one place long enough for us to get the drop on him.”
Sabre warped from SAK towards the Osmon gate. Oli followed to get contact and warp location information behind the gate. A probe was launched by Oli some 16 AU from the Osmon Gate, gets a hit and calls for Dee to warp to zero. Dee, shudders at the distance and pushes his Scorpion for all it can handle to arrive right on top of Sabre. The 80 AU warp was accurate within 0.074863µ.
Dee Carson, landing perfectly on top of Sabre A, begins to warp scramble the ship as it coasts under him. The now webbed Cerberus is helpless to move as Dee, neutralizes the heavy assault craft, punching holes into the frame with no less then four Cruise missile launchers firing an endless salvo into the his opponents double jammed Caldari ship. Dees wingman Eyedoll, had not yet arrived on the scene and as he wondered where he might be, Ariel Darklight arrives in a Rapier and engages the Universities Operations Director.
Carson, deploys his drones, landing his last ECM jammer on the targe,t as Eyedoll arrived on the scene. Ariel disengaged and warped away as Sabres ship went down. Oli returned home for repairs after taking defender damage, leaving Dee to examine the wreck. Ariel returned to have a look, turns around to leave as a Raven Battleship appears within range. Sabre had returned.
Having accomplished his goal and wanting to get back to his office, Dee Carson and his gang retired from the field.
Meanwhile, Silentbrick scored a tag on an enemy RHNVY ship accompanied by a fleet of 40+ members out in Amarr. The mercenary corp had assembled a small armada of approximately a dozen or more ships to infiltrate the student grounds. Almost surrounded by blood thirsty students under the direct command of Mackers UK, the enemy fleet of 15, it’s strongest show of force to date, fled through Areiken, presumably hiding in low sec or 0.0 space. They have been reported as spending the majority of their time away from the war. University forces continue to outweigh the enemy merc corp by an average 20:1.
The wars rage on internally and abroad as both sides vow to take down the benevolent University as it teaches new players and seasoned veterans aspects of Eve they wish to learn. For more than four years, Eve University has been providing new players quality training in all aspects of life in Eve without cost to them. For more information on Eve University, visit the in game website at www.eve-ivy.com
Many divisions have been made as a mass exodus of students leave for other pastures and long standing staff choose sides in what history may recall as the EU Civil War. Eve University continues to steadfastly protect it’s assets, including the dismantling of it’s POS.
The struggle continues…

Thank you for the kind words, MD! I wrote the AAR report in accordance to our standing policies that encourage the publishing of narratives to enable students to see how things unfold in battle.
However, this was not a solo action, but rather the co-ordinated effort of a small team that required the capabilities of three pilots of three different races, flying ships with three different capabilities. It should serve notice to our enemies that we have the capability and the willingness to engage in small unit fights. When they see three Uni pilots, they won’t know if our guys are scouts for a 30 man fleet, recons probing for weakness or a strike team prepared to take out the unwary. That uncertainty leads to hesitation and ‘he who hesitates, is lost”.
Secondly, this is not a personal issue between Sabre and the members of leadership. He left some time ago and recently made the choice to war dec Eve University. Choices have consequences and finding yourself in a pod is one of them. It’s not personal. He just shows flashy on the overview right now.
And we all know what that means! ;)

Thanks for the noted points. Nothing official has been said so far, so I’ve written this spin with a reporters perspective and tone. With the parties involved in your take down of the Cerb, it’s rather obvious it’s a team effort. As for the title, yeah, it looks more one on one. It’s the headline that grabs the reader’s attention after all.
I didn’t see the correlation between the races simply because I don’t know enough about ships and their individual roles. Chalk it up to being solely fixated with one character and her goal to learn her race and none others until shes ready. Which will be never at the rate she’s going. I do agree, they never know whats coming no matter if if it’s a solo pilot, small gang or a full fleet of 100 ships. Good to keep them guessing.
As for Sabre, deep down I know it’s not personal. I have the luxury of knowing his character (not the toon, the person), most however don’t. From the outside looking in, it looks as if it’s us an against him scenario and the disdain is more then apparent. I don’t have the luxury of being the insider, all of whom have been hush hush for a number of weeks now. To the newer pilot, this has to look far worse then it appears. To many peoples emotions have got involved, that’s just life in general.
The hidden message of this post is about the other guys and not Sabre. Passive information on for anyone looking up RHNVY for future business. It’s so subtle that I have to point it out for people to read again and realize. That’s just how I am.
The rest is just an interesting story to read and thanks for clarifying to the many readers out there. I hope I’ve done the same.
